This is what I wore today and I was digging it. This silk-back shirt from J.Crew is the most comfortable thing ever. It is casual but chic at the same time and fits great. The pants are comfy track style from J.Crew as well. I wore my most favorite statement necklace similar to this one. Add some cute, black pointy-toe flats to top it off!
I just bought this sweater from gap today for $20 and I know I will wear it for the next month as my transition piece between winter and spring here in Augusta. The shopping options here are super limited here but this piece is veryyy identical similar to the boyfriend sweater from J.Crew. What I love even more about the piece from gap is that it is softer, it is longer, and it is made from 100% recycled plastic.
Yes I bought it in gray –I am loving basics these days. Go get it while gap is having 50% off.
There were some pretty innovative presentations floating around Instagram during NYFW. While I was sitting at home with no power, I was feverishly checking instagram and style.com to entertain me. Yes, now LFW is over and MFW is almost over but I am still thinking about some of these presentations.
1. Dannijo’s Boxerina Presentation // the two brilliant sisters behind jewelry line Dannijo presented their new A/W collection using the idea of a ‘boxerina’ because it evoked a “balance between hard and soft, beautiful and rough, and to allude to this combination of fluidity and movement seen in boxing and ballet”. They bedazzled professional dancers with their jewels atop a pale pink crop top and fluid tulle skirt. This presentation has a special place in my heart considering I danced for 13 years and fashion is one of my passions. So beautiful.
2. Moncler presentation // Moncler staged the Pendulum Choir on hydraulic platforms that pivoted to their musical soundtrack with the gusto of the acapella sing song produced by each individual. Each of Moncler’s looks had its own spotlighted window box in the background to showcase the looks for the new season. I love the idea behind this presentation as it shows the industrial and technological attributes of the brand identity.
3. Alexander Wang // Mr.Wang couldn’t have had a more impressive show to mark the close of designing for only his namesake brand before he becomes the head designer for Balenciaga. As usual, the clothes were innovative, well made, and polished in a eccentric way. The finale toped off the tasteful array of the mix of looks with heat-activated leather looks. The last set of models stood poised in a circle in their seeming all black looks, until a heater rotated around the girls to reveal the true colors of the garments. Imaginative ingenuity.
Oversized to furry, the pink hues were out to play this past week. As I predicted, there was plenty of more pink coats seen on the street at NYFW. I am still loving this color, but I am predicting hunter green as the next trendy coat color.
